In the town of Relecq-Kerhuon, in Finistère, the inhabitants are still in shock. On Wednesday July 21, two girls aged 4 and 6 were found dead at the family home. It was the grandmother of the two sisters who alerted the firefighters that morning. The one who had come to look for them found herself in front of a closed door, with the keys inside. When help arrived, the 35-year-old mother opened the door before losing consciousness.
If the mother had to be hospitalized and is still not able to be heard by investigators, the autopsy of the two small victims, she spoke. The girls born in 2015 and 2017 respectively were said to have been medicated before being drowned. Analyzes are currently underway to determine the substances they could have ingested.
The family does not want a white march
But then what could have happened to make such a drama unfold? A handwritten letter was found in the accommodation, according to Le Télégramme. On the latter, the mother of the two little girls explains her gesture: the separation, demanded by her husband while on the move, motivated her to act. The father, too, has not yet been interviewed.
Sadness is still very present in the streets of Relecq-Kerhuon and well beyond. But if the family of the two little girls is “very touched” by the marks of sympathy received, she stressed that she wanted to mourn “in the strictest privacy”. For this, everyone is therefore asked not to organize a white march, or any other gathering, in memory of the two girls.
