Prince Harry and Meghan Markle previously held a role in the QCT.
They left office when they left the royal family.
The QCT has decided to remove their names from their website.
In their Netflix documentary, unveiled in December 2022, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not hesitate to criticize the royal family. Indeed, the couple spoke of many controversies including racism within the institution. In the third episode, writer and broadcaster Afua Hirsh said, “The Commonwealth is always described as a club of friends who share common values. I find that language really problematic. I sometimes call the Commonwealth Empire 2.0, because that’s what he is”.
A qualification strongly criticized since the organization, essentially made up of former colonies of the British Empire, now claims to bring nations together. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also worked in his interest until their departure from the royal family. Prior to that, they were Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust (QCT), a charity that supports people across the Commonwealth.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle removed from the QCT website
After the controversial comments in their documentary, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem to have been sanctioned by the QCT. Indeed, on Wednesday, February 15, the organization published a tweet announcing the launch of its new website. Inside, the names of the parents of Archie and Lilibet are no longer mentioned despite all the work they have done. The focus is now on the legacy of Queen Elizabeth II.

By digging a little on the site, we can find a single evocation concerning the role of the brother of Prince William. “The Duke of Sussex launched the QCT as Chairman, with the Duchess of Sussex subsequently joining as Vice-Chairman. Both were active participants in our formative years, for which we are grateful. resigned from these roles in early 2021,” it read. Enough to show that the couple no longer plays any role within the QCT.
