Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wish to visit the United Kingdom in the coming weeks. According to tabloid The Sun, they have made a request to the Queen and want to fly from California as soon as possible. The trip would see the Queen meet her four-month-old great-granddaughter and namesake Lilibeth. It would be Meghan’s first comeback since leaving in March 2020 and Harry’s third. He had returned in April for Prince Philip’s funeral and in July for the unveiling of the statue of his mother, Princess Diana.
According to The Sun, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s request was shocking. A close source reportedly claimed: “Harry and Meghan made this offer, but a lot of people are shocked at the nerve of it. They might really want to see the Queen, but it’s breathtaking considering what they did to him this year “. If their request has yet to be successful, the source added that the Queen would like the opportunity to see her great-grandchildren Archie and Lilibeth.
Lilibeth’s baptism could take place at Windsor Castle
If Queen Elisabeth II agrees to meet her great-granddaughter in the coming weeks, it is possible that her baptism will take place in England. A source told the English newspaper: “Harry has told several people that they want Lili baptized in Windsor, just like her brother.”
Archie, the eldest son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was baptized on July 6, 2019 in a chapel in Windsor Castle. The ceremony had taken place in a small committee, without the presence of the Queen and Prince Philip. After tensions between the Duke of Sussex and the royal family, Lilibeth’s baptism could help ease the situation. If it doesn’t, Harry and William could meet again next year, for the Queen’s Jubilee.
