Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been living in the United States for almost three years
According to a former friend of the couple, they thought they would become the stars of their neighborhood
Unfortunately for them, that would not be the case at all.
Perhaps they saw themselves as more beautiful than they actually were. On March 31, 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a drastic decision as they decided to move to the United States and ended their obligations to the Royal Family to live financially independent lives. The couple then acquired a mansion in the city of Montecito, California, for nearly 15 million dollars (about 14 million euros). But according to Nick Ede, a former friend of Meghan Markle, when they arrived they “thought they would be the most important people in Hollywood”. But that was not the case at all.
Indeed, among their neighbors, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex can count some of the biggest American stars, such as Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres. Which places them “quite far down the hierarchy” in Hollywood, according to Nick Ede, in the columns of Express. The TV presenter claims the couple believed they would be “number one in the neighborhood” but the title of “king of Hollywood” belongs to the Kardashians and Beyonce.
Harry and Meghan excluded from American “royalty”?
“I think we forget that in Hollywood, royalty isn’t someone with a title. It’s J.Lo, it’s Sharon Stone, it’s Beyonce, it’s the Kardashians . It’s their royalty,” Nick Ede continued. And to add: “They are sort of quite far down the hierarchy. And I think that has been a problem for them”.
On September 30, 2022, local magazine Santa Barbara News-Press reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wanted to leave their mansion to move to Hope Ranch, about ten miles from Montecito. This small town has a chic members-only country club as well as a golf club. It also has many assets, such as tennis courts, picnic grounds and a network of horse trails. Enough to raise Archie and Lilibet in a dream setting! Highly sought after by celebrities, this area has many properties.
