In leaving their duties as senior members of the royal family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had to give up many things … starting with their royal security privilege. If the couple had assured through their spokesperson that “privately financed security arrangements have been put in place”, this would not have been sufficient to protect their home. Indeed, the police assured that a man tried to enter their home twice during the holidays. Police sources have indeed assured TMZ that a 37-year-old man named Nickolas Brooks was caught in the act of trespassing at their home in Montecito, California, on Christmas Eve. However, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s officers let him go with a warning.
This will not have been enough given that Nickolas Brooks showed up again on the property of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on December 26, 2020! While the young man was arrested, the sources of the American site revealed that the intruder had come straight from Ohio in order to break into their home. However, Nickolas Brooks did not reveal what exactly he wanted to do and was then charged with the trespassing offense. While these incidents may seem insignificant, they highlight a much more important point Prince Harry touched on during his TV interview with Oprah Winfrey: his concern for the safety of her family. In front of the host, Prince William’s brother explained that Buckingham Palace had cut him off.
“One of the most threatened crowned heads”
A former soldier engaged during the war in Afghanistan, Elizabeth II’s grandson remains one of the members of the royal family most “at risk.” In the columns of the Mirror, a Taliban fighter, Qari Nasrullah confided that Prince Harry had already been targeted by terrorists “on several occasions” before adding about his intervention in Afghanistan: “There were many plans for capture him – maybe it was his luck that he managed to escape. ” Former Parachute Regiment soldier and security expert Paul Biddiss added: “Harry will need to be protected because he is one of the most endangered crowned heads. He clearly needs security protection.”
