Carla Zampatti fell down the stairs while attending the La Traviata opera launch party in Sydney Harbor, Australia. She was 78 years old.
After her terrible fall, Carla Zampatti was immediately rushed to hospital, says The Guardian. Despite all rescue efforts, the stylist did not survive and died at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney. The sad news of the designer’s death was confirmed on her official Instagram, this Saturday, April 3. Born in Italy, Carla Zampatti moved to Australia with her family in 1950, then created her fashion brand 15 years later. She married twice and had three children, Alex Schuman, Allegra Spende and Bianca Spender, who is also a designer. She was the grandmother of 9 grandchildren.
