This is bad news for Elizabeth II. While rumors suggested that Prince Harry could soon return to the United Kingdom soon to discuss the terms of Megxit, and why not to spend Christmas at Sandringham, it turns out that he and Meghan Markle have finally decided otherwise. Indeed, the journalist Katie Nicholl assured that it is in the United States that the couple decided to spend the end of year holidays, in their home in Montecito.
“Travel around the world has been made very complicated by the coronavirus pandemic and for the moment, the Duke does not intend to return to the United Kingdom”, assures the journalist of Vanity Fair, who specifies that the problem “is that if he comes he has to quarantine himself and that makes things pretty difficult.” A decision devoid of bad intentions on the part of the Sussex couple, but which risks hurting Elizabeth II, who has not seen Archie for a year now. A great-grandson who the Queen “misses” a lot, just like her grandson Prince Harry, but whom she should however be able to see again after the holidays.
Windsor Christmas traditions upset
For the second year in a row, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will therefore not be doing Christmas with the Windsors, they who hoped to be able to spend the holidays with Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. But recent measures taken by the British government and the quarantine of people coming from abroad seem to have discouraged them. In particular the famous rule of six which will limit the guests at the queen’s table. But if they come after the holidays, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be able to spend time with the Queen and allow her to see her great-grandson Archie, and “in particular” enjoy Prince Philip, whose at 99 the state of health has not been good for several months.
