Saturday, August 15, 2020 is a day that will remain etched in Donald Trump’s memory for a long time. The President of the United States has indeed lost his younger brother, named Robert, at the age of 71. The latter was seriously ill and was hospitalized in New York. No details have been made as to the disease that took her early. In a statement shared by the White House, the head of state said “with a heavy heart” that his “wonderful brother” “died peacefully that night”.
“He was not only my brother, he was my best friend. His memory will always live in my heart. Robert, I love you. Rest in peace,” Melania Trump’s husband added sadly. The latter had visited him the day before in the hospital. Interviewed by the press, he then said that his little brother “was having a difficult time”, without visibly imagining that he would die a few hours later. For her part, Ivanka Trump greeted the memory of her uncle on Twitter, specifying: “We love you. You are in our hearts and in our prayers, always”. The American president therefore has only two sisters. His other brother Fred Trump Junior, the oldest of the siblings, died at 43 in 1981 due to his alcoholism.
Two older sisters who have chosen different careers
It remains in the life of Donald Trump Maryanne Trump Barry and Elizabeth. The first, aged 83, is a judge and prosecutor. She is the first child of Fred Trump and Mary Anne MacLeod Trump. She lives in Philadelphia, south of New York, and has a son (David William Desmond) born in 1960 and a psychologist by profession. The second is Elizabeth Trump Grau. She is 78 years old and is a retired former executive at Chase Manhattan investment bank. On the private side, she has been married to film producer James Walter Grau since 1989.
