Has the mystery that keeps the United Kingdom in suspense found its solution? This Sunday, February 19, 2023, Lancashire Police announced the discovery of a body in the River Wyre, near Rawcliffe Road. The sinister find took place around 11:35 am, following the report of a couple of walkers who would have seen the body at the edge of the water. “An underwater search and specialist team arrived on the scene, went into the water and unfortunately discovered a body,” police said in a statement.

For the time being, the body “has not been formally identified” but it could be Nicola Bulley, who disappeared on January 27 while walking her dog on the edge of the river. The 40-year-old, mother of two little girls, was last seen around 9:20 a.m., before her dog Willow was found alone, without a mistress or a harness. She has been actively sought since and her disappearance is the subject of wide media coverage in the United Kingdom, in particular because of certain errors that the investigators would have made in their investigations.

“I have no words, I only feel the agony”

Informed of the discovery of the body, the family of Nicola Bulley would be “incredibly devastated” by the news, said Inzamam Rashid, correspondent for the British channel Sky News. “I have no words, I only feel the agony,” wrote Paul Ansell, longtime partner of Nicola Bulley, in a text message addressed to the journalist.

An autopsy will be performed to identify the body and determine the circumstances of death. “Proceedings to identify the body are ongoing, Lancashire Police said. We are currently treating the death as unexplained.” The theses of the accident, the suicide and the bad meeting are always considered.
