May 3, 2007 was marked by the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, an almost four-year-old British girl. The facts took place in Praia da Luz in the Algarve in Portugal where his family was on vacation. Fifteen years later, no clue has revealed more about this worrying disappearance. In Germany, investigators are focusing all their investigations on Christian Brueckner, considered to be the main suspect in the kidnapping of the girl. However, a major twist has taken place recently. According to information from the media Sky News, published this Monday, May 2, 2022, Christian Brueckner would have an alibi. “He let it be known that at the time of the murder, he was having sex with a German vagabond in his motorhome”, can we first read. He also remembered having accompanied the young woman “to the airport where she was arrested and appeared in court because she was carrying illegal pepper spray”, it is specified. An alibi that he had “already mentioned but he no longer remembered his first name, whereas now yes”. Will the police be able to confirm his statements?

This is not the first time that Christian Brueckner’s guilt has been questioned. Last January, during the broadcast of a documentary, an investigation was carried out and it highlighted the fact that the suspect had an alibi. Indeed, it was two witnesses, interviewed by the team in charge of carrying out this project, who had turned the investigation upside down. In it they had affirmed that “Christian Brueckner, could not have snatched Madeleine”. The reason ? The main suspect was “30 minutes away and not on the phone in Praia da Luz the night she disappeared”, they said. Two alibis taken very seriously by the investigators but, as German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters reminded the British television channel, Christian Brueckner is still the main suspect. “For the moment, he has not given us any alibi. We are therefore only working on the evidence that we have found during our investigations. And nothing exonerates him”. Will this case ever be solved?

Maddie McCann: did her parents react?

Fifteen years after the disappearance of their little girl, Kate and Gerry McCann are still inconsolable and they hope to get answers one day. “It is essential to know the truth about this case”, they first wrote on the Facebook page dedicated to the search for their daughter. “Whatever the outcome, Madeleine will always be our daughter and a truly horrible crime has been committed”, they specified before adding: “It is true that uncertainty breeds weakness, knowledge and certainty give strength and for this reason our need for answers, for truth, is essential,” they concluded.
