The public prosecutor of Brive gave a press conference this Wednesday, October 26 as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Justine Vayrac, a young woman who went out to a discotheque in the night from Saturday to Sunday and who has since remained untraceable, despite the hunts and searches of the investigators.

According to Émilie Abrantes, Public Prosecutor of Brive-la-Gaillarde, an acquaintance of Justine Vayrac met in front of the nightclub, was placed in police custody Tuesday morning at 9:45 a.m., “in order to verify the elements of chronology and to cross-check the various elements collected at this stage of the procedure”. The investigation opened for “disturbing disappearance” has been reclassified as “kidnapping and forcible confinement”. The magistrate also indicated that new elements had been brought to light “Searches were carried out in the home of the person concerned as well as in his vehicle, indicated the Prosecutor, technical and scientific police operations were carried out which have made it possible to highlight the presence of traces of blood in the home of the person concerned, in his room, but also in his vehicle, at the level of the gear lever knob.DNA analyzes are currently in progress in order to establish the genetic profile that may correspond to these traces of blood”.

On the other hand, the young woman’s handbag was also found explained Emilie Abrantes, “Justine Vayrac’s handbag containing personal effects was discovered charred near the home of the detainee, at the outside of it”. The investigation continues with the hearings of witnesses and the continuation of the police custody of the main suspect “At the end of the police custody which will end Thursday morning, we are moving towards the opening of a judicial investigation before a magistrate from the criminal center of Limoges”.
