Eleven years later, they have all taken very different paths…
Andrea Bowen – Julie Mayer
Now 33 years old, Andrea Bowen has not let go of her acting career with the end of Desperates Housewives. Since 2012, the young actress has notably appeared in the FBI series: Missing Persons, Ghost Whisperer, Scandal and The Secret Life of an Ordinary Teenager. However, she only played small roles. At the same time, she continues to lend her voice to the character of Aerith in the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts video games. On the heart side, she shares her life with the composer Ricky Schweitzer.
Mason Vale Cotton – MJ Delfino
After his stint in Desperate Housewives, the young interpreter of MJ Delfino, Mason Vale Cotton, obtained another recurring role in the series Mad Men. He played Bobby Draper, the son of Don Draper (Jon Hamm) and Betty Hofstadt (January Jones). The young actor, now 20, has also landed a few low-key movie roles, including in Russell Madness, Mad Families and Scales: Mermaids Are Real.
Madison de la Garza – Juanita Solis
In Desperate Housewives, the charismatic Madison de la Garza played Juanita Solis, Gabrielle’s eldest. Since then, the 21-year-old actress has only appeared in small roles, notably in the series Bad Teacher and American Koko. She recently made an appearance in her half-sister Demi Lovato’s music video, Dancing with the Devil.
This Balagot – Grace Solis
Now 22, Ceci Balagot (birth name Cecilia Balagot) came out as transgender on March 18, 2021, declaring on Instagram, “Congratulations, he’s a he/him!” Two years after Desperate Housewives, he landed the role of Isadora Smackle in the Disney Channel series The World of Riley. Since 2020, he has been in the cast of the series Envoys from elsewhere alongside Jason Segel and Sally Field.
Daniella Baltodano – Celia Solis
Since the end of Desperate Housewives, the young Daniella Baltodano, interpreter of Celia Solis, has put her acting career on hold. In 2014, she made a discreet appearance in the Shameless series before completely disappearing from the Hollywood landscape.
Brent and Shane Kinsman, Charlie and Max Carver – Porter and Preston Scavo
Brent and Shane Kinsman are the first to portray Porter and Preston Scavo, the sons of Tom and Lynette. Since their departure from Desperate Housewives in 2008, they have put an end to their acting careers. Charlie and Max Carver, who played the twins from season 5, made a name for themselves playing the werewolves Aiden and Ethan Steiner in the MTV series Teen Wolf, from 2013 to 2017. In 2020, Charlie landed the role of Huck Finnigan in Ryan Murphy’s Ratched series, while Max walked away from film sets. They are now 34 years old.
Zane Huett, Joshua L. Moore – Parker Scavo
The role of Parker Scavo was first played by Zane Huett, before he was replaced by Joshua L. Moore at the start of Season 5. Now 24, the former only appeared in only once on screen after leaving Desperate Housewives. It was in 2011, and he played Tommy in the TV movie My father, this rocker alongside Jack Coleman. Same fate for Joshua L. Moore. After the ABC series, the now 28-year-old actor never did television again.
Kendall Applegate, Darcy Rose Byrnes – Penny Scavo
Like her brothers, Penny Scavo has been played by several actresses. First played by twins Dylan and Jordan Cline during season 1, the youngest of the Scavos was then played by Darien and Kerstin Pinkerton during seasons 2 to 4. From season 5, the role was recovered by Kendall Applegate, then by Darcy Rose Byrnes for season 7 and 8. Kendall Applegate, 24, quit television after Desperate. Darcy Rose Byrnes, for her part, appeared in the film A Thousand Words by Brian Robbins in 2012. She then decided to devote herself to dubbing, and lends her voice to the character of Maricela in the series Dreamworks Spirit: Galloping in all freedom since 2017. She will celebrate her 25th birthday in November.
Shawn Pyfrom – Andrew Van de Kamp
At nearly 37, Shawn Pyfrom has had very few screen appearances since Desperate Housewives ended. In 2013, he starred in the TV movie Killing Lincoln and then tried his hand at film in the films Hellbent (2018), Randy’s Canvas (2018) and Model Citizen (2020). Since 2017, he lives in Paris.
Joy Jorgensen – Danielle Katz
After Desperate Housewives, the interpreter of Bree’s daughter left the film sets to devote herself to her studies. A graduate of Columbia University in New York, she majored in American history. Recently, she nevertheless decided to try her hand at directing through two short films. In 2017, Laps was presented at the Sundance festival.
