This tragic event comes two years after the death of his son, Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide in 2020 at the age of 27. “I have dealt with death, grief and loss since I was 9 years old. I have experienced this more than anyone in my life and somehow I have managed to move forward“, she wrote in a text relayed by the magazine People. In an essay published in August 2022, she also explained that this disappearance had “destroyed” her. Benjamin Keough was the fruit of her love affair with Danny Keough, to whom the singer was married from 1988 to 1994.
