Iman on David Bowie: “It was my true love”
“It was my true love,” said the one who has married three times in her life. “My daughter once asked me if I would get married again and I answered ‘never’. On her romance with David Bowie, Iman says “it couldn’t have been more consistent!” The 60-year-old also clarified that her husband “was a very funny and warm gentleman. Everyone said he was futuristic, but no, he wasn’t, he loved wearing a three-piece suit more than anything. ..) We had a wonderful and ordinary life and that was what was wonderful. We lived in New York, we picked up our daughter from school, we walked everywhere … I wish we had had more years. ”
Iman is now convinced that her husband accompanies her everywhere: “David is in our hearts and our minds every day, for all of us. (…) His fans are always present, his music is omnipresent.” And she believes in the signs of fate: “On the day she disappeared I hiked and a bluebird (bluebird, a bird mentioned in David Bowie’s last song Lazarus where he sings” Now I’ll be free / Like a blue merle / He looks like me, right? “) started flying in front of me (…) I asked a guide who told me they were rare. Now instead of celebrating the anniversary of his death in a sad way, it is more of a joyful day, ”she concluded.
