New twist in the Ronaldo-Mayorga affair. In 2009, a model named Kathryn Mayorga accused Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo of raping her in Las Vegas. According to her, they met in the VIP area of a nightclub and the player then invited her to share his jacuzzi in his hotel room. While she was changing, he allegedly entered her hotel room before raping her. Cristiano Ronaldo vigorously denies the facts with which he is accused and has called this story fake news.
A financial agreement called into question
While the two parties had agreed at the time for a payment of more than 300,000 dollars from Cristiano Ronaldo to Kathryn Mayorga for the case to be closed, the latter reversed its decision in 2018 She says that when the previous agreement was signed, she was not in full possession of her means. She also says that since this alleged rape, she has thought about killing herself. She has since quit her job as a teacher and prefers not to appear in the media at all.
Cristiano Ronaldo will not go through the court box
The investigation has therefore been reopened but will not be decided in a court, as the English newspaper The Sun has just revealed. The case will not go to a jury and should therefore prevent the Juventus Turin player from coming to testify. Since the reopening of the investigation, new evidence such as a DNA test or emails between him and his lawyers could overwhelm Ronaldo, but the latter were declared inadmissible because stolen by a hacker. A new financial arrangement could bring both parties to agreement again. Neither Cristiano Ronaldo’s representatives nor those of Kathryn Mayorga have made any recent comment on the case.
