It will remain forever in everyone’s memories and in that of the seventh art. Chadwick Boseman passed away on August 28, 2020, at the age of 43. The American actor, star of the film Black Panther, suffered from colon cancer that he had never disclosed, and which took it away. Eight months after his death, Chadwick Boseman has just received a new award for his talent as an actor, much to the pride of his relatives and his wife.
The late actor received an award at the SAG Awards, awards given by the Union of American Actors. The ceremony took place this Sunday, April 4, 2021 in Los Angeles, by videoconference because of the health context due to the global pandemic. The SAG Awards often give leading clues about the Oscar winners, the 2021 edition of which will take place on April 26.
Rain of rewards for Chadwick Boseman
During this 27th edition of the SAG Awards, Chadwick Boseman received the best actor award, posthumously, for his role in The Blues of Ma Rainey, broadcast on Netflix. Adapted from the play by August Wilson, the film is the last role of Chadwick Boseman, who co-stars with Viola Davis – who received the award for best actress. Chadwick Boseman’s widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, accepted the award on behalf of her husband. Last January, she had already accepted an award in honor of the actor, at the Gotham Awards. Chadwick Boseman was also crowned at the Golden Globes as well as at the Critics Choice Awards, last March for the two ceremonies. The road to the Oscar seems cleared out …
