In the year 2000, Karl Lagerfeld, the famous German designer of the Maison Chanel, appeared very thin. Thanks to the diet developed by Doctor Jean-Claude Houdret, he loses around 42 kilos in just over a year. Later, they will publish together a book entitled “The best of diets”, in order to publicize this method which they call “Spoonlight”. But what is it all about?
Karl Lagerfeld and the Spoonlight diet: what is it?
The Spoonlight diet is a diet created by doctor Jean-Claude Houdret which consists of reducing caloric intake, especially in fat and sugar, while adding protein to your diet thanks to high-protein sachets supposed to preserve muscle mass and moderate fat loss. appetite.
The method is special since it offers 3 lists of foods according to their caloric value: those that are prohibited, those to be avoided and those that can be eaten at will. One of the advantages of this diet is that it is high protein, and thus helps to melt fat since the intake of lipids and carbohydrates are removed from the diet. Karl Lagerfeld’s typical menu consisted, for example, of 2 sachets of powdered protein in the morning, green vegetables, meat or fish for lunch and dinner. And that without exceeding 1200 calories per day. In case of craving between meals, the intake of food supplements is recommended and authorized.
Like most diets, there are more risks than benefits. Indeed, the prohibition to consume certain foods can lead to significant nutritional deficiencies. Not to mention fatigue, the feeling of hunger, weakness, dizziness, and the budget necessary to purchase high protein sachets. This is why it is essential to contact a doctor before starting.
