Film screenings follow one another at the Cannes Film Festival, where cinema will be celebrated until May 27. This Wednesday marked the climb of the steps of the team of the film La passion de Dodin Bouffant, directed by filmmaker Tran Anh Hung. The feature film tells the story of Eugénie, an outstanding cook, who has worked for the famous gourmet Dodin for 20 years. By dint of spending time together in the kitchen, the two gourmets will fall in love but the cook, eager for freedom, does not have in mind to marry Dodin. The latter will then do something he had never done for her until now: cook for her. A love story closely linked to the practice of gastronomy that the director has chosen to tell, featuring two actors who once loved each other in real life. Indeed, it was Juliette Binoche and Benoît Magimel who were chosen to give life to these two lovers of cooking, they who lived an idyll from 1999 to 2003, from which a daughter, Hannah, was born. It would also be because of their previously shared intimacy that Tran Anh Hung would have chosen these two actors to carry his film.

Juliette Binoche: this detail of her look that surprises

This Wednesday, the two former were therefore side by side to climb the steps of the Festival before the screening of La passion de Dodin le bouffant. While Benoît Magimel played it cool wearing a midnight blue suit with a bow tie and sunglasses, Juliette Binoche opted for a rather refined look. Chignon well pulled back, white jacket with Mao collar and long black skirt, the actress had relied on sobriety to tread the red carpet. The significant detail of her outfit? Black leather gloves, which almost made her look like a spy.
