During her official engagements, Camilla Parker Bowles has a habit of meeting many people. Volunteers, helpers, small local producers, soldiers, but also victims of violence. For several years, the Duchess of Cornwall has made the fight against violence against women one of her main commitments. And Wednesday, September 30, it is a moving testimony which it echoed during a solo outing.
Invited to a center of the Women’s Aid association in Blefast in Ireland, the wife of Prince Charles heard the testimony of a mother, who said that her four children had been killed before her eyes by her violent husband. Stuck by this terrible testimony, Camilla Parker Bowles is according to the journalist Rebecca English remained “seated in a silent astonishment” in front of this victim of violence.

Touched by this testimony, the Duchess then described her interlocutor as “very courageous” and thanked her for having had the courage to tell her story. Other women have also shared their story as victims of domestic violence, before Camilla Parker Bowles deplored the explosion of this violence during confinement. During the few months when the British were called to stay at home because of the Covid-19, the Duchess had launched a heartbreaking appeal to denounce domestic violence, calling on everyone to mobilize and protect as much as possible the women and children stranded with their aggressors.
