1976 Olympian Caitlyn Jenner is considering taking on the incumbent governor of California in the next election according to Deadline. However, the outcome of this idea and the strategies to be adopted have yet to be determined. Indeed, Axios confirms an interview between Caitlyn Jenner and GOP agents. The goal is to repeat the feat of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the recall election in 2003 against Gray Davis.
The prospect of a turnaround is particularly enticing for Republicans who want to dominate the ballot box in California. Despite the fact that transgender Caitlyn Jenner is world famous, her chances of beating Newsom are slim according to Deadline. The latter being an experienced man and well supported financially.
“A successful rise in the polls”
Recall that the governor, Gavin Newsom, whose first term is in office, is the subject of a recall campaign in November 2020. The reason being his mismanagement of the COVID-19 pandemic. The governor recently toured vaccination sites in recent weeks. Which made a comeback in the polls. The visit of Vice President Kamala Harris as well as the announcement of a possibility of reopening on June 15, 2021 increases the chances of re-election of Gavin Newsom.
For her part, Caitlyn Jenner, also known as Bruce Jenner, has the small screen card. “Caitlyn Jenner will never be Governor of California, but she just might find herself a new show on a streamer because of it all,” Deadline says.
