The holidays that do not pass. After several months of confinement, the United Kingdom is struggling to recover its economy which is suffering from Covid-19, while the government is stepping up measures to avoid a second wave. A few days ago, Boris Johnson even announced to the British that the next six months could be difficult, especially economically and on the job market. And meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s fiancée was on a little trip to Italy.
According to information from the Daily Mail, Carrie Symonds has indeed recently enjoyed a small luxury stay in a five-star hotel on the shores of Lake Como, the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, where the price of a night in the establishment is not less than 600 pounds, or more than 650 euros. If Boris Johnson, who is said to be ready to leave Downing Street, was not on the trip, his fiancée left with three friends, as well as his son Wilfried, born last April. “Carrie seemed very relaxed. She was smiling and laughing with her friends. It was as if she had nothing to worry about in the world,” a British vacationer told the tabloid.
Quarantine for Carrie Symonds?
No worries on the horizon therefore for Carrie Symonds, who seemed delighted to enjoy her stay as the United Kingdom prepares to go through a long economic crisis. However, this small scandal risks tarnishing the image of Boris Johnson’s fiancée, who however risks having to submit to a very strict instruction on her return: a period of isolation, as requested of British nationals and foreigners when they come from another country to avoid the spread of Covid-19.
