Last Monday, the Gates’ divorce was announced via Twitter. Wall Street Journal documents claim that Melinda Gates has been consulting divorce lawyers for over a year and a half. The newspaper reports that it is Robert Stephan Cohen with whom the consultation would have started since October 2019. Recall that at this same period, the New York Times had reported several meetings between Bill Gates and Jeffrey Epstein. Besides, once Bill Gates would have stayed late in the billionaire’s house in his house in New York. Although a spokesperson for Bill Gates says these meetings revolved exclusively around philanthropy, there is still some doubt.
WSJ reports that divorce lawyer Robert Stephan Cohen has lent a hand to Melinda Gates. The New York-based lawyer had previously represented Michael Bloomberg, Ivana Trump and Henry Kravis during their divorces. For his part, Bill Gates spoke with lawyers like Ronald Olson of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP. The latter having already represented Mark Zuckerberg.
“Suspicious proximity to Jeffrey Epstein”
Bill and Melinda Gates had met Jeffrey Epstein in 2013. A meeting that did not have a positive conclusion with the wife since Melinda had confided in Bill that she found him scary. She also stressed that one should not associate with him. By this time, Epstein had already served an 18-month sentence for sex crimes.
That same year, Bill Gates allegedly flew in Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet, the “Lolita Express,” from New Jersey to Palm Beach. Despite Melinda’s remarks and concerns, Bill Gates and some members of their foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, still maintained a close relationship with Jeffrey Epstein who committed suicide in August 2019 in Manhattan prison.
