A rare and serious autoimmune disease… On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, the Paramount+ platform aired the first three episodes of The Checkup with Dr. David Agus. In one of them, Ashton Kutcher lifted the veil on vascular disease, a disease that hit him hard in 2019. This disease causes thickening of the walls of blood vessels which can subsequently lead to loss hearing, or loss of vision if the blood can no longer reach the eyes. Candidly, the actor said, “I woke up one day and I had vision problems, I couldn’t see anything. I lost my hearing, which disturbed my balance, I can’t I couldn’t walk anymore. There’s a norm that you get used to in your life, like being able to see clearly. And then suddenly you can’t see anymore, like you have this obstruction and you can’t see. You want to get back to the health you had before.”

Wishing to see things on the bright side, Mila Kunis’ husband assured that his health problems had “allowed him to appreciate life.” During the summer of 2022, it was on the National Geographic reality show Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge, that Ashton Kutcher had entrusted: “About two years ago, I had this strange shape and very rare vasculitis which kind of knocked out my vision, my hearing, my whole balance. It took a year for me to recover.” Grateful, it was then that he is better today that he added: “We don’t appreciate things enough until the moment they are in danger of leaving us. Until the moment we say to ourselves: ‘ I don’t know if I’ll be able to see again I don’t know if I’ll be able to hear again I don’t know if I’ll be able to walk again I’m lucky to be alive .'” After the broadcast of the show, it was on Twitter that he clarified: “I had problems with hearing, vision, balance right after. I completely recovered. Alright. Let’s move on!”

Three years ago, Ashton Kutcher woke up and suddenly couldn’t see or hear clearly. Now, in a new @paramountplus series, he’s opening up about his vasculitis scare with his doctor @DavidAgus: “[It] knocked out my hearing, which threw off my equilibrium… and I couldn’t walk.” pic.twitter.com/WgjBjwHDDw
