Ashley Graham: her confidences about her home birth and her relationship to her body

Became a mother for the first time last January, Ashley Graham wants to free the word on the backdrop of a childbirth, but also on the body of women after giving birth. While she welcomed a little Isaac into the world, the pretty brunette appears without complexes with a few extra pounds and does not erase her stretch marks during her photoshoots. Indeed, Ashley Graham is more than proud of this body that gave life! In an interview with the American version of Elle magazine, the young mother agreed to return to her home birth and the pain it caused her: “I had no idea it was going to hurt so much (. ..) All mothers say: ‘Yes, it is painful.’ Whether they’ve had an epidural or not, or a caesarean, whatever happens, they’re like, ‘Yes, it’s painful.’ And they say it calmly. They don’t stress the pain it brings, especially if you choose to give birth naturally. ”

If the model does not have good memories of her childbirth, she is however happy to have given birth before confinement: “The glimmer of hope in all of this is that I gave birth before we were placed in quarantine, So I got to see Isaac growing up before my eyes. Experiencing every moment with him has been a dream come true. I already feel bad for my next child because I don’t know if he will get that much attention. ” While she is also putting on a few extra pounds, Ashley Graham reveals that she has never felt so good about herself: “When I look at my stretch marks, and the changes my body has had to go through, it reminds me that as women we are super heroines. It constantly reminds me that our bodies are made for this. It is really a beautiful thing to be able to give life, but I had not realized it before that . ”

“I’m going to celebrate my new body”

Ambassador of Body Positivism, Ashley Graham revealed how she came to come to terms with her post-pregnancy body: “Before I got pregnant, I was already hoping that women would learn to continue to love their bodies despite the changes. And then when I am got pregnant, I had to reinvent my relationship with my body and this creature inside of me that was taking control. I was gaining weight so quickly. Then I got stretch marks on my stomach, and I got said, ‘Oh my god, I can’t believe this is happening.’ At first I was devastated and then when I met Isaac I was like, ‘No, this is what women are all about through the ages. This is not just a battle against my weight. It’ is something that has changed my life forever, and I will be celebrating my new body. ”
