On February 7, Sam Pybus, a 32-year-old married man, waits for his wife to fall asleep before sending a message to his mistress. Sophie Moss is 33 years old and the mother of two children. It’s been almost three years that the two lovers meet and meet for a few moments of pleasure. But that evening, everything turns into a nightmare. Sam Pybus goes to Sophie Moss, where they usually meet for their sex. The two lovers drank, especially him. But whatever. During the act, Sam exerts a light pressure on Sophie’s neck, something she had already accepted during past sex. But this time, the pressure must have been too much for the mother …
It’s 4:47 am when Sam walks into the town police station. He confides to the police having strangled Sophie. In any case, that’s what he believes. Sam doesn’t remember anything, but just notices his hands hurt. When he woke up he was naked and Sophie was standing next to him, unconscious. It is not sure that she is still breathing and is starting to panic. The agents then go immediately to the apartment and find the young woman naked, and still inert. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, the mother of the family is declared dead in hospital.
Sophie’s children “sentenced to life”, her murderer to 4 years in prison
Daniel Parkington, the father of Sophie’s children, aged 5 and 6, is devastated. “They were sentenced to life.” The father also confided that one of the boys had demanded to do “a FaceTime with his mother from heaven”. Sophie’s brother, too, struggles to accept his disappearance. “She was cheerful, dynamic and talented,” he said of his sister.
Sam Pybus pleaded guilty in court to manslaughter. He also assured that he never wanted the death of Sophie Moss, and regret his dramatic gesture. He was sentenced to four years and eight months in prison.
