While Amber Heard faces Johnny Depp in a highly publicized trial since April 11, 2022, the actress sees her image take a big hit. After the broadcast of controversial videos and audios and the withdrawal of Elon Musk, who was to be a key witness in his defense, the 36-year-old actress saw some old files come out of the closet.

One of them concerns the divorce between the actor of Pirates of the Caribbean and the actress of Aquaman, in 2016. Following their breakup, Amber Heard had received the sum of 7 million dollars and had made an announcement particularly generous. Indeed, she had declared that she would pay the entire sum to two associations to fight against violence against women. “As explained in our agreement, the money has played no role for me, except for the fact that I can donate it to an association and therefore, hope to help those who are less able to defend themselves” she had written in particular in a press release.

Amber Heard would never have paid the money promised to the associations.

During the trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, Terence Dougherty, the general counsel of one of the associations, came to testify. He explained that only $1.3 million was donated to the association, in four instalments. A sum far from that promised by the interpreter of Mera. Worse still, it seems that it was Elon Musk, his ex-companion and multi-billionaire who paid part of the sum, amounting to 500,000 euros.

Elon Musk, with whom Amber Heard had a one-year relationship, would also have written to the association to explain to them that the actress would pay the promised sum over ten years. But according to Terence Dougherty, the transfers quickly ceased. “We contacted Miss Heard in 2019 to collect the next deadline, but we learned that she was facing financial problems” he explained in particular. New elements which are added to those which have already tarnished the image of the woman since the start of the trial.
