Adele: singer’s father died angry at the age of 57

According to British tabloid The Sun, singer Adele’s father, Mark Evans, died at the age of 57 from cancer. Sadly, the deceased and his daughter had not been on good terms for years and did not reconcile until Mark Evans took his last breath. A source from the magazine explained: “He always hoped things would work out with Adele, but it stayed tense until the end. He tried to right his mistakes but it was obviously too late.”

Adele and Mark Evans had not spoken since 2011 (he was diagnosed ill in 2013), when he gave an interview about his complex relationship with his daughter. In this straightforward interview, at the time when the artist’s career was exploding, he admitted having been “a rotten father” after having left wife and child when she was only 3 years old. Mark Evans had justified his absence by revealing that he was an alcoholic at the time and that “the best thing for Adele to do was to spare her from seeing (him) like that.”

Mark Evans was hoping to reconcile with Adele to meet his grandson

In 2013, Mark Evans once again spoke publicly to talk about his stormy relationship with Adele. He still deplored this misunderstanding because because of that, he was not allowed to see Angelo, his grandson that Adele had with her ex-husband Simon Konecki. He said: “The years go by, I worry about not seeing my grandson and I am afraid to repeat the mistakes I made when Adele was a child.” Unfortunately, the time has actually passed too quickly …
