It is a macabre discovery that was made in Japan, this Sunday, September 27. Japanese actress Yuko Takeuchi was found lifeless at her home in Tokyo, as reported by several media in the country. She was 40 years old. As Deadline reports, the police have opened an investigation and suspect that Yuko Takeuchia committed suicide. It is about her husband, the actor Taiki Nakabayashi, who would have found the body of Yuko Takeuchi, inanimate. His death was confirmed at the hospital.
If her name doesn’t mean much to you, Yuko Takeuchi was an actress who starred in a number of films and television shows throughout her career. Relatively less known in Europe, Yuko Takeuchi was very well known in Japan. From 2004 to 1007, she was nominated for the role of Best Actress for three consecutive years at the Japanese Oscars. Apart from her career, she was the mother of two children, born to two different unions. Her last child was born in February 2020.
Flashforward and Miss Sherlock
Suspense lovers may have seen her in the American series Flashforward, and in Miss Sherlock, a Japanese television series loosely based on the short stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, co-produced by HBO Asia and Hulu Japan. Recently, Yuko Takeuchi appeared in the series A Life: Itoshiki Hito, Innocent Days or Queen, as well as in the movie The Confidence Man JP: Episode of the Princess. Her agency Stardust Promotion Inc. responded to the actress’s disappearance, saying in a statement, “It came all of a sudden, and we are all stunned and saddened by the news.”
