This is a scenario that no passenger would like to experience. On November 22, a plane took off from Bahrain International Airport at 10:22 p.m. Direction Paris Charles de Gaulle. But the aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing on its approach to the Iraqi-Turkish border. The plane landed at Erbil International Airport. The reason ? A flight attendant suffered a fatal heart attack mid-flight. Following the tragedy, the airline said the man was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The flight then continued to Paris.
The airline said: “The national carrier expresses its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the crew member, and confirms that the flight has resumed to Paris as scheduled. Gulf Air assures that the safety of its passengers and his crew are at the top of their priorities, and thank the passengers of the affected flight for their patience and understanding.” A tragedy that echoes the Easy Jet flight between Cyprus and London. A man again died on board.
A passenger dies in flight
During the flight, several attempts at resuscitation were used, in particular with the help of a defibrillator. The passengers on the flight then became concerned when a 50-year-old man, traveling alone, failed to wake up. “EasyJet can confirm that a passenger has unfortunately died on board flight EZY8454 from Paphos to London Gatwick on November 17. The well-being of our passengers and crew is always easyJet’s top priority. Our crew are trained to respond to medical issues and did everything possible during the flight. Our hearts go out to the customer’s family and friends and we offer support and assistance at this difficult time.”
