The facts would have taken place on Sunday January 1, 2023, around 7:50 a.m. Police responded quickly to a call about a stabbing involving a minor victim. The attack in question took place in a house located in the 3500 block of Labadie Drive in Richland Hills, west of Dallas.
When authorities arrived, they discovered an 8-year-old boy dead at the scene. “He was found in a bedroom of his grandfather’s house,” according to FOX 4. The suspect, Phillip Hughes, was found near the residence where the tragedy occurred. “The boy’s cause of death was force injuries to his neck and chest, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner,” the outlet said. Phillip Hughes was arrested and taken into custody. An investigation is underway into the motive for the murder.
