A video shared on Twitter shows a situation that could have ended very badly at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. In this video, which was picked up by The Sun, we can see travelers terrified because of a fire on the plane. Smoke fills the cabin as the flight attendants quickly take the initiative to bring the situation under control. This Singapore-bound plane was preparing to take off when a mobile phone charger caught fire.
Also in this video, passengers can clearly be seen moving away from the flames as crew members come in to bring the situation under control. The latter easily manage to put out the fire while calming the passengers. Fortunately, the 189 passengers are safe and were able to exit the plane. Following this incident, the flight was cancelled. The airport claims to have rescheduled the passengers’ flights and compensated them for their travel costs after this ordeal, explains The Sun.

Two people were injured in the incident
According to Taoyuan Airport, the fire injured two people. However, these two passengers did not sustain serious injuries. It is a slight burn on the hands as well as a small contusion on the face. One of the injured is believed to be the owner of the laptop charger that caused the fire. The other injured would be his traveling companion. “All of a sudden there was smoke, and then he threw it on the ground, and then it caught fire, so the smoke came in,” a passenger told local news. Scoot Airlines released a statement saying the incident was under investigation.
