A family drama. On December 23, police discovered traces of blood in the basement of a house in Philadelphia, United States. Traces that eventually led officers to the body of a man, who was face down with his head in the freezer. Near the body, a knife was also found. “It is possible that this individual was stabbed to death,” the police chief said at the time. However, there were no signs of a break-in.

After several weeks of investigation, the police finally managed to identify the victim: a 54-year-old father. The latter was living alone with his son at the time of the events. And as reported by the American media CBS News, the young man, aged 27, has now become the main suspect in the death of his father. He was therefore arrested and charged with homicide.

The decisive testimony of a neighbor of the victim

It is thanks to the testimony of a neighbor that the authorities oriented themselves on the trail of the parricide. Indeed, he explained that in the early morning of December 23, he was walking his dog when he heard a cry for help. “It was around 3:30 a.m., 4 a.m., there was screaming in the street,” he told CBS.

Currently detained at the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Center in Philadelphia, the accused is now awaiting trial. He is expected to appear next month.
