Eugenie spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos
She made tender confidences about her son
She is pregnant with her second child

A fulfilled mother. Pregnant with her second child, Princess Eugenie will welcome August’s little brother or sister next summer. Married to Jack Brooksbank, the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson is more fulfilled than ever with her eldest son. Usually rather discreet when it comes to talking about her private life, she confided like never before about her child. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Princess Eugenie explained how she is changing her behavior at home to educate her son, August, about the importance of protecting the environment. “My son will be an activist from two years old, which is in a few days, assured the future mother. I spoke to Peter Thomson, the United Nations special envoy for the oceans and everything he told me is that he was doing this for his grandchildren. And it’s the same for me.”

“Every decision we make now must be for August, for what he will be able to look at from Earth and how he will live his life, continued Princess Beatrice’s sister. But I also think that as a mother , you suddenly change. Since I have a child, I’m more afraid.” The youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson has said she has seen the world differently since becoming a mother and her concerns about climate change have affected the way she lives. “At home we don’t have plastic, we try as much as possible not to have plastic and I try to teach him that. But it’s a battle, assured the young woman. I prefer to be optimistic but sometimes facts and figures give you that kind of feeling of frustration and unhappiness.”

Princess Eugenie, an “eco-warrior”

Committed for years, Princess Eugenie is doing everything to limit her environmental impact. During her marriage to Jack Brooksbank in 2018, she notably offered guests water in recyclable aluminum cans and not plastic ones. “I’ve always loved being in nature. My parents instilled in me a love of wild places and respect for animals and nature,” she explained. Princess Eugenie was named an ambassador for the Blue Marine Foundation in 2021 and last year released a mini-series on ocean conservation with leading ocean advocates. “She’s so much more than an eco-warrior now, she’s so much more than someone who loves nature a bit, or loves being by the sea, I think it’s really important to point out that we all have to play a role in it”, then assured one of her friends.
