On August 1, 2019, Emmanyle Nguyen visited you with a doctor from Colorado Aesthetics & Plastic Surgery in Greenwood Village for an operation she had been dreaming of for years. Complexed, she wanted to rebuild her breasts. As she was about to pass into the hands of the surgeon, the young woman suffered cardiac arrest because of the anesthesia. She never woke up. For many months, Emmalyne Nguyen was in a coma with extensive brain damage and 24 hour medical care. Lately his health seemed to be seeing some improvement. But on October 2, she developed severe pneumonia and had another cardiac arrest. Two days later, she was pronounced dead.
“The world has lost a wonderful, gentle and vibrant young woman,” said David Woodruff, her family’s lawyer, as the New York Post explained. “She had a whole life ahead of her that was needlessly interrupted.” His relatives had previously filed a lawsuit against the surgeon and the nurse anesthetist, accusing them of gross negligence. They now want to sue them for negligence resulting in death. “Emmalyn’s parents believe it is imperative to tell Emmalyn’s story, both to do her justice and also to help prevent this from happening to another patient,” the lawyer added. . After having had her medical license suspended for a few months, the surgeon who took care of the young woman can again operate under probationary status for the next three years.
His family pays homage to their “guardian angel”
On Instagram, the family of Emmalyne Nguyen published many pictures of the young woman in a coma. Following his death, his relatives paid him a moving tribute. “You are the strongest person we will ever know. You have shown us what true unconditional love really is and also what life is. You are a hero. We are very proud of you and what You’ve become in such a short time, we read in a final post. We really wish you could have stayed longer, but we know the time has come to let go and spread your wings. ” They then addressed their “guardian angel”: “Go travel the world. It is not a goodbye but a see you soon”. In the rest of their message, Emmanyle’s relatives thanked the people who have supported them for months. “Remember to hug your loved ones tighter every night and make sure you tell them you love them, they conclude. Life is too short and you will never know what tomorrow brings.”
