The mourning world of MMA. The American Victoria Lee, a true prodigy of the discipline, died at the age of only 18. This was announced by his family on social networks, in particular his sister, Angela, also an MMA fighter.

“She left too soon and our family has been completely devastated since then. We miss her… more than anything. Our family will never be the same again. Life will never be the same again. Victoria was the most beautiful soul who ever lived. She was the best little sister in the world”, wrote the young woman on her Instagram account, revealing the tragic news. For the time being, the causes of his death are not known.

Thunderous beginnings at only 17 years old

Nicknamed “The Prodigy”, Victoria Lee was world junior champion in the modern variation of pankration, an ancient Greek wrestling. The young Hawaiian then got into MMA and has since been fighting in the Singapore-based ONE Championship league, the most popular in Asia. An organization whose sister Angela (under 47 kilos) and brother Christian (under 70 kilos) hold championship belts. Victoria Lee had made her debut at just 17 years old, and had won her three fights in the organization between February and September 2021, all before the limit.

The president of ONE Championship, Chatri Sityodtong has also paid a poignant tribute to the young champion on social networks. “Victoria had the purest heart of gold and a brilliant mind. She cared for others before herself. She wanted to use her life to help the world. I will always remember Victoria for the beautiful and precious soul she was,” he wrote.
